Adaptable security mechanism for dynamic environments

چکیده
Electronic services in dynamic environment (e.g. e-government, e-banking, e-commerce, etc.), meet many different barriers reducing their efficient applicability. One of them is the requirement of information security when it is transmitted, transformed, and stored in an electronicservice. It ispossibletoprovide the appropriate level ofsecuritybyapplying the present-day information technology. However, the level of protection of information is often much higher than it is necessary to meet potential threats. Since the level of security strongly affects the performance of the whole system, the excessive protection decreases its reliability and availability and, as a result, its global security. In this paper we present a mechanism of adaptable security for, digital information transmission systems (being usually the crucial part of e-service). It makes it possible to guarantee the adequate level of protection for actual level of threats dynamically changing in the environment. In our model the basic element of the security is the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is enriched with specific cryptographic modules. a 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

A semantic-aware role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Access control in open and dynamic Pervasive Computing Environments (PCEs) is a very complex mechanism and encompasses various new requirements. In fact, in such environments, context information should be used in access control decision process; however, it is not applicable to gather all context information completely and accurately all the time. Thus, a suitable access control model for PCEs...
متن کاملCAMAC: a context-aware mandatory access control model
Mandatory access control models have traditionally been employed as a robust security mechanism in multilevel security environments such as military domains. In traditional mandatory models, the security classes associated with entities are context-insensitive. However, context-sensitivity of security classes and flexibility of access control mechanisms may be required especially in pervasive c...

A system has dynamic adaptability if it can adapt itself to dynamically changing runtime environments. As open-ended distributed systems and mobile computing systems have spread widely, the need for software with dynamic adaptability increases. We propose a model of software with dynamic adaptability and the object-oriented reective language LEAD++ based on the model. The basic idea is that we ...

متن کاملComparison of Stability Parameters for Detection of Stable and High Essential Oil Yielding Landraces of Rosa damascena Mill.
The essential oil yield stability of damask rose (Rosa damascena Mill.) as an important medicinal and aromatic plant in different environments has not been well documented. In order to determine appropriate stability parameters, six statistics were studied for essential oil stability of 35 Rosa damascena landraces in seven locations (Sanandaj, Arak, Kashan, Dezful, Stahban, Ke...
